For this week's blog post, I decided to think a bit out of the box. I noticed that not a lot of outfits featured a corset, so while digging through my dresser, I came across a corset that I had bought around a year ago, and decided to feature it. I thought it would be cute paired with a plain black skater skirt. I threw them together and they made a cute combo! The corset adds a sexy edge, while the skirt is a fun and feminine touch to the outfit. Plus, it makes your legs look amazing! I'm ready for a night out in this outfit!
The Minted Exchange is a California bases boutique that I had recently discovered after I started to follow fellow fashion blogger, Sara Libby. I love the style of The Minted Exchange! Their clothes are very feminine, but also have a vibe of a gypsy or even a festive, prairie put to it! Here are some of my favorites: While (once again) shopping at Victoria's Secret PINK for a new swimsuit, I spotted this black Racerback bikini and I just knew I had to try it on. I instantly loved it! It's so cute, and I really love the flouncy top. It is very feminine, frilly, and gorgeous! Plus, it adds a bit of sexiness to it with the cheetah print straps! Animal print is perfect for anything, even a day on the beach! **SWIMSUIT DETAILS** Top: Black Racerback bikini with cheetah print straps, Victoria's Secret PINK 2014 Swim Collection (couldn't find online, find similar here) // https://www.victoriassecret.com/swimwear/shop-by-size-mobile-B/ladder-back-flounce-top-pink?ProductID=192901&CatalogueType=OLS Bottoms: Black Ruched Side Bikini Bottoms, Victoria's Secret PINK 2014 Swim Collection // https://www.victoriassecret.com/pink/shop-swim/ruched-side-bikini-bottom-pink?ProductID=189064&CatalogueType=OLS As I was brainstorming on blog post ideas earlier this week (and taking notes from my role model blogs), I noticed one common theme: clothes. But, I noticed one vital thing that was missing that would be a perfect summer blog post, and it really stuck out like a sore thumb. The missing post, you ask? A swimsuit post! The idea of a swimsuit post really made me jump at the opportunity to go to the beach, even though my busy schedule and surgery thwarted my early summer promise of going to the beach everyday (in reality, I've only been to the beach about 4 times). I found it to be the perfect excuse to go to the beach and frolick through the waves, while all the while talking about and showing off my bikini! For me, colors really pop out, so this swimsuit really stood out to me while I was swimsuit shopping. Add in the fact that it's a sexy bandeau top with cutouts, and I'm sold! I paired it with some bright orange (ish) bikini bottoms to add a little more pop of color. Tell me, what's your favorite summertime bikini?! **SWIMSUIT DETAILS** Top: Caged Bandeau Top, Victoria's Secret VS Swim 2014 Collection // available to buy here: https://www.victoriassecret.com/swimwear/bandeau/caged-bandeau-top-pink?ProductID=178440&CatalogueType=OLS Bottom: Ruched Cheeky Bikini, Victoria's Secret VS Swim 2014 Collection // available to buy here: https://www.victoriassecret.com//pink/shop-swim/ruched-cheeky-bikini-pink?ProductID=205871&CatalogueType=OLS I never really thought I would ever own a t-shirt dress. In fact, I really thought that it wouldn't look good for my figure. But, when I saw this black t-shirt dress at a local store, I wanted to give it a try. I tried it on and ended up loving it! Not only is it form fitting, but it also is made of thin fabric for those warm summer days! You can easily put a jacket over it for the fall months. You could dress it up with accessories or dress it down. It is a dress for all occasions! Whether it's a party or a nice day at the park, this t-shirt dress is perfect for a dressy or casual look. On my fourth and final installation of the "Maxi Madness" blog series, I decided to feature my current newest maxi. I found this gorgeous maxi dress at Charlotte Russe, and I just knew I had to try it on! I was thrilled when I found out that on top of it fitting me perfectly, it was ON SALE! This black floral print cut-out dress stole my heart. It is very lightweight, and I'm a sucker for cut outs. For me, cut outs add a sexy flare to any outfit. The floral pattern really pops and adds a lot of color to the outfit, plus I love the blends of pinks, blues, greens, oranges, and reds that were present in the pattern! It can be paired with a cute sunhat, a jean jacket, or even a cardigan! To show this dress in action, I decided to go to the site of my previous maxi photoshoot. Here are my favorite pics from that shoot. For this shoot, I decided to be very simple with my accessories. I paired the dress (available to buy here: http://m.charlotterusse.com/product/Dresses/Maxis/entity/pc/3021/c/0/sc/2712/265258.uts) with plain black gemmed sunglasses, a silver double-hearted ring, and a gold ring with Rose gold details (it once belonged to my grandmother). In terms of shoes, I paired my maxi with some black suede gladiator sandals which I also bought at Charlotte Russe (available here: http://m.charlotterusse.com/product/entity/258753.uts). Earlier, while going through my feed of Bloglovin, which is an app for people who are both bloggers and love to keep up with other blogs can stay tuned into their favorite blogs, I noticed a certain post that caught my attention. A blog had a picture collage of the occasions and events that they just happened to do in one month, and I loved that idea! So, I decided to do the same. Here is my July photo summary! 1. I went to my FIRST EVER live Milwaukee Brewers game just last Saturday, the 26th. It was amazing, the atmosphere there was great. Plus, the Brewers won! 2. I spent an amazing weekend at Rockfest in Cadott, Wisconsin from the 17th to the 20th. Some of the bands included Five Finger Death Punch, Cheap Trick, Pop Evil, the Pretty Reckless, and Aerosmith! 3. On the 4th, to celebrate this beautiful country's birthday, I went strawberry picking at the Foster's Berry Patch and picked some wonderful berries! Later that night, my parents and I enjoyed some pizza while watching Carson Park's annual fireworks. 4. I scheduled my second oral surgery, which I was (thankfully) able to get it done today. I had to have three wisdom teeth and one molar pulled. Despite my limited diet in result of the surgery, it was worth it to get it done before I move to Winona for college. 5. Instead of having our annual 4th of July celebration either on the 4th or the weekend of, my family, along with my mother's side of the family, moved the tradition of going to the beach back a weekend because of a kickball tournament we were participating in as a family. We went to the beach on the 11th, and had an absolute blast! I got a chance to enjoy the water with my darling niece. 6. My mother's side of the family and my family participated in her (my mother's) hometown. I had a blast being the catcher, and it was great that my future sister-in-law was able to kick some butt with me! 7. On top of everything, I got to enjoy a lovely day at the beach with some friends! Soaking up the sun, making memories with friends, and relaxing in my Victoria's Secret are three of my favorite things in the world! Thanks to my oral surgery, I found today to be the perfect day to post my third installation of "Maxi Madness"! When I figured out that there was a buy-one get-one 50% off sale at Francesca's the day I went there (this is also when and where I bought my other maxi, the blue and orange Alya maxi), I practically ran to the rack to grab this neon Alya maxi that had caught my eye earlier! I love this dress so much! It is very bright and colorful, and it is made of a thin fabric, so it could be worn in summer. In the fall, you could pair it with a cute jean or leather jacket! To show off this dress, I picked a beautiful location near a pond. Here are some of the pictures that resulted! Who doesn't love open backs?! This dress's open back adds a bit of sexy flare to this dress and is another reason why I love it so much! Hair: for this shoot, I decided to go with a cut Gatsby inspired hairdo! Jewelry: I paired a pretty blue fashion ring, and a silver bracelet that was gifted to me from Cancun, Mexico. To add a little visual, I decided to do a few shots with a gray cardigan, to show a possible pairing option with this dress. I used to want Urban Decay's eyeshadows, so much so that I would often look at them at Ulta Beauty, wondering how I would come up with the $50 I needed to buy a palette. Makeup is very expensive nowadays, and it left me worrying that I would never find my dream makeup and eye shadow kit for cheap. That changed, however, when I saw the Ultimate Bombshell Kit at Victoria's Secret! The Ultimate Bombshell Kit was on sale for $8, when it was originally $35! It is really my secret weapon, because it has basically all your makeup needs minus the coverup and foundation. The kit features eye shadow, eye liner, blush, brushes, and lipgloss. The eye shadow shades are literally perfect for coordinating my outfits for my daily life, as well as special occasions and my blog shoots. Plus, they have just a bit of glitter mixed in, which really adds a glow to your eye makeup. I love it so much, it is the best makeup purchase I've ever made. Cheers, Victoria's Secret! I've found my makeup secret weapon! For this part of "Maxi Madness", I decided to feature my newest maxi. When I was shopping at GAP about a month ago, I saw this gray maxi that was on sale. After trying it on, I just knew I had to have it! It is very simple but still a gorgeous dress. It is very flattering and feminine, while still being practical. You can pair it with anything from sandals and a sunhat in the summer, to a jean jacket and heeled boots in the fall. To help bring out this dress in the best of ways, I decided to take to a local trail/park to do a photoshoot to show this dress in action. In terms of accesories, I really wanted to make the dress pop with a splash of color. So, I paired this maxi with two big fashion rings, my favorite colorful sunglasses (from PINK) and a beautiful blue gem bracelet. For shoes, I decided on my favorite sandals. |
